What does Walt do for fun? Volunteering for The Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of America. As Chairman of my son's Boy Scout Troop (Burbank Troop 209) I enjoy working with the other leaders and scouts to keep the troop running smoothly so the boys can go on adventures, such as camping in the snow, white water rafting, rock climbing, and even backpacking up to 11,300 feet at Philmont, NM. I am the troop's photographer and videographer, and create videos of their outings and present them at quarterly "Court of Honors." My son recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in scouting. I also assist my daughter's Girl Scout troop in their weekly activites, and on occasion guide them in outdoor camping activities. Movies I am a life long fan of live action and animated films, and take my family to several screeings monthly. Lately I have been captivated by the potential of digital projection in theaters, and especially digital 3D Stereo. The new polarized technology for 3D glasses is amazing. Art Galleries and Museums I love to visit museums and art galleries, especially with my family where I can share my knowledge of art history and love of all forms of art. Cycling as often as possible I cycle with my children to their schools, and then to work. We even take longer cycling treks to the zoo, where we spend the day sketching the animals and visitors. Restoring Photographs a passion of mine is using my Photoshop, color correction, and digital painting expertise to scan and restore vintage family photographs and share them with my relatives. Family Tree I have a great curiousity of history and Genealogy, and continue to research my family history, illustrating it with vintage photos that I have restored. First Aid I like being prepared in case I need to come to the aid of others. I am certified by the Red Cross to help others in First Aid, Triage, CPR, and AED use. |
